The story behind the scent: Warm and sweet, with a touch of mystery, Soulcake will bring you to the center of the creative heart. One Christmastime several members of a tribe centered around a particular house in a particular street in a particular city next to the ocean received a bound green book. The words on the cover read ‘soul cake,’ and the words inside spoke of the heart, the night, the future, the past, things broken and fixed, sugar fire and flight and the clouds above the hills and sea and bridges. The time came, and it went, but the name remained, and soul cake became a name that stuck and came to mean the girl with the books and the dark hair, the words and the wander and the waves, the cake and the candles too.
